CONFIRMED IN THE WAITING — 6-DAY DEVOTIONAL
Day 1 — When the Promise Feels Quiet
Recap & Emotional / Spiritual Connection
Scripture
“Sometimes the hardest part of faith isn’t trusting God—it’s wondering who will recognize what God is doing in you.”
(cf. Luke 1:39–40, NLT)
Devotional Thought (Day 1)
Waiting can feel lonely. Especially when God has placed something deep inside your heart—a calling, a burden, a promise—and there’s no visible evidence yet. You know God has spoken. You know what you sensed in prayer. But when days stretch into weeks, and weeks into months, silence can start to feel like doubt.
Mary knew that feeling. She carried a miracle, but not a megaphone. There were no headlines, no applause, no public confirmation. Just obedience. Just faith. Just the quiet weight of trusting God while walking through uncertainty.
Advent reminds us that God often works quietly before He works visibly. Before the angels sang, before the shepherds ran, before the manger was seen—there was waiting. And in that waiting, God was still faithful.
If you are in a season where your faith feels unseen or unrecognized, you are not abandoned. Waiting does not mean God has stopped working. It often means He is preparing you—and the world—for what He has already promised.
Reflection Questions
What promise or burden are you carrying right now that feels unseen?
How does waiting challenge your trust in God?
Prayer Prompt
“Lord, help me trust You when the promise feels quiet. Remind me that silence is not absence.”
Action Step
Take five minutes today to sit in silence before God—no requests, no words—just trust.
Day 2 — God Confirms Before He Completes
Biblical Depth & Background
Scripture
“When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb…”
— Luke 1:41 (NLT)
Devotional Thought (Day 2)
Luke shows us something powerful: God confirms His work before He finishes it. Elizabeth didn’t need Mary to explain herself. Before words were spoken, the Holy Spirit responded. God allowed confirmation to come through spiritual recognition, not human reasoning.
This matters because we often want clarity before obedience and evidence before trust. But God’s pattern is different. He confirms faith in ways that don’t always make sense—sometimes through a word, sometimes through peace, sometimes through another believer who sees what we couldn’t articulate ourselves.
Advent teaches us that God’s timing is intentional. He doesn’t rush fulfillment, but He does provide reassurance along the way. The leap in Elizabeth’s womb was God’s way of saying, “This is real—even if it’s not finished yet.”
Reflection Questions
How has God affirmed your faith before the outcome was clear?
Are you waiting for proof when God has already given confirmation?
Prayer Prompt
“God, help me recognize the quiet confirmations You’ve already given me.”
Action Step
Write down one way God has reassured you during a season of waiting.
Day 3 — Faith That Doesn’t Need the Finish Line
Heart-Level Reflection
Scripture
“You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what He said.”
— Luke 1:45 (NLT)
Devotional Thought (Day 3)
Elizabeth didn’t say Mary would be blessed after the baby was born. She said Mary was blessed because she believed. God calls faith blessed before fulfillment arrives.
This challenges how we measure faith. We often think faith is proven only when prayers are answered or circumstances change. But Scripture shows us that faith is honored even when the story is still unfolding.
If you are believing God for something that hasn’t happened yet, heaven is not waiting to see how it turns out before calling you faithful. Your trust matters now. Your obedience matters now. Your belief honors God now.
Reflection Questions
What would it look like to believe God without needing immediate results?
Where are you tempted to delay trust until you see evidence?
Prayer Prompt
“Lord, help me trust You fully, even when I can’t see the end yet.”
Action Step
Speak this out loud today: “God, I trust You—even while I’m waiting.”
Day 4 — Moving While You’re Still Waiting
Personal Application
Scripture
“Mary hurried to the hill country of Judea…”
— Luke 1:39 (NLT)
Devotional Thought (Day 4)
Mary didn’t sit still while she waited. She moved toward community. She sought encouragement. She placed herself where faith could be nurtured.
Waiting does not mean inactivity. Sometimes faith means taking the next right step—even without all the answers. God often confirms His promises while we’re moving, not while we’re frozen in fear.
Reflection Questions
Where might God be inviting you to move in faith?
Are you waiting passively or trusting actively?
Prayer Prompt
“God, give me courage to move forward even while I’m waiting.”
Action Step
Take one intentional step this week toward spiritual growth or connection.
Day 5 — Faith Is Strengthened in Community
Community & Outward Focus
Scripture
“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.”
— Hebrews 10:24 (NLT)
Devotional Thought (Day 5)
God used Elizabeth to affirm Mary—and He still uses people to confirm His work today. Faith grows best in community. Sometimes God sends confirmation through someone else’s encouragement.
Who might God be using you to affirm today? Who needs to hear, “I see God working in you”?
Reflection Questions
Who has encouraged your faith during a waiting season?
Who might God be calling you to encourage right now?
Prayer Prompt
“Lord, make me a voice of encouragement to others who are waiting.”
Action Step
Send an encouraging text or make a call to someone who may be waiting on God.
Day 6 — Living Confirmed While Waiting
Faith-in-Action Challenge
Scripture
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work…”
— Philippians 1:6 (NLT)
Devotional Thought (Day 6)
Waiting doesn’t cancel God’s promises—it confirms them. If God started it, He will finish it. Advent reminds us that hope is not rushed, but it is certain.
You may still be waiting—but you are not forgotten. You are confirmed. God is at work, even now.
Reflection Questions
How does knowing God is faithful change how you wait?
What would it look like to live confidently while waiting?
Prayer Prompt
“God, help me live boldly, trusting You to finish what You started.”
Action Step
Choose one area of your life to surrender fully to God today.
